Here is a new dot screentone brushset for Procreate. You can use it in your manga pages or illustrations. It was designed to be used at a 600 dpi printing density, but can be used at lower densities.

Procreate screentone brushset content

This Procreate brushset contains 252 brushes.

You can find them all pictured below:

As you can see, the dot screentone patterns come with 21 different dot densities: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40 and 48 dots per inch, at a 600 dpi print resolution.

For each dot density, the screentone brushes have 10 levels of gray: 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%.

Moreover, there are 2 alternatives for the 80% and 90% levels: One is circles intersection, and the other is a circular hole. You can spot that on the image above at the top, where the holes are either squarish, or circular.

Stacking

In addition, some of these brushes can be stacked up to create more complex patterns. This is simply performed by overlaying brushes with different densities on top of each other.

The stacking possibilities are the following:

1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32
3, 6, 12, 24,48
5, 10, 20, 40
7, 14, 28
9, 18, 36

A word of caution

One point to be aware of, is that some brushes with higher density can be sensitive to build up. This means that if you overlay two strokes of the screentone in Procreate, the place where the strokes overlay will show as slightly darker. You can see it in the picture below.

Try to fill the areas you target using one single stroke instead of using short overlaying strokes if you want to avoid this build-up.
